Site info
In this page, I provide some information on what I’ve been using to run this Weblog. Not that most of them great; however, I think some of them are sophisticated, at least for me.
Technologies and tools being used for this weblog:
- WordPress
a state-of-the-art publishing platform
- Google Custom Search Engine
to create a search engine tailored to your needs
- Google Analytics
makes it easy to improve your results online.
- Flickr
almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world
- Creative Commons
tools that let authors, scientists, artists, and educators easily mark their creative work with the freedoms they want it to carry.
- Mozilla Firefox
Firefox 3 sets the pace with dozens of new features, including the smart location bar, one-click bookmarking and blindingly fast performance.
- Digital camera Nikon D60
Communication tools:
I own Nokia E51 for two purposes; it’s primarily for phone call and secondarily for mobile Internet. I often use it to check email and other frequently-updated sites like Facebook and Twitter. With my laptop, I also use the smartphone as a modem to connect to the Internet.
Simply, here is a basic configuration for home Internet:
Nokia E51 + ThinkPad T61; using GPRS (EDGE network, rather than 3G); browse in text mode only. Therefore, Internet at home.
Mobile network service I’d recommend:
Either Cellcard or qb CUBE
Both network services offer up to 3G service. Check the rate as this is subject to changes over time.
My laptop, Lenovo ThinkPad T61 (7663-CB7)
