Nice shots, by the way did you upgrade to digital slr, or still that film one?
Do you think that Phnom Penh now is better than before? Is it enough? Phnom Penh need to be improved?
I felt so hopeless when i see the developed country’s cities, but often friend tell me that Phnom Penh is always better, other big city also has mess like phnom penh. ex flooded street.
HM….
“No helmet more stylish ?? “. It should be but you’ll be fined without helmet in Vietnam
nice capture, i still see a dynamic improvement in the city,
Looks like the Phnom Penh I knew a year ago, well at least these places don’t seemed to have changed. I’m sure though that the skyline is somewhat changing quickly. Would be great if you could post pics of some of these new developments.
Just to respond to Borin, I’ve been to a lot of western cities, most recent being Chicago. I have to say that they are impressive in their own ways, and so is Phnom Penh, still one of my favorite cities. Phnom Penh is rich in history and culture and you can feel the ‘buzz’ in the people. Chicago and New York, on the other hand, have large parks, very impressive skyline, and a well-built infrastructure. However, you don’t feel as much buzz in the people and there aren’t as many enthusiastic tourists, and certainly not much history. European cities are perhaps the best in quality as they are also rich in history and culture. But in short, it just depends on the people you ask, and cities do change, hopefully Phnom Penh is on the right change. Do visit foreign cities if you have the chance to do so.
Great shots Tharum.
Borin, I’ve recently upgraded my camera. Going digital from now.
These photographs were taken as leisure one afternoon. It’s impossible to have these picture to tell the story of the capital city as a whole, as the title suggested.
I think each city has its own uniqueness. I was told by an African citizen I met at a conference in London a couple of years ago that the name Phnom Penh is so amusing.
ijajaja, yeah I guess drivers without helmet tend to think that it’s more stylish. It would be good if we could change this perception by claiming the opposite.
