Picture I Photographed in Radio Free Asia Website

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

A folk at Radio Free Asia (aka RFA) is kind enough to feature one of the pictures I shot in Ratanakiri (with attribution the work of mine) in its news article.

Also, a news editor at South Eastern Globe, Cambodia’s English Magazine, contacted me to obtain information about some pictures I took in Kampong Cham province; when I observed the Commune Council Election. The need of using my pictures for the print magazine was given on short notice. Although I digitize my film, I don’t usually have them in high resolution ready for print purpose.

In Delhi last year, I was very disappointed with most of the snapshots. A small glitch made things worse. Only a few images, though, can be considered interesting. For instance, you can take a look at this GV at Global Village, a site dedicated to all things Global Voices Online. The black & white header image was taken by me. With some editing technique, the image is now in use. I’m really happy about this.

Beside enjoying being on the road, time exploring new things and encountering new people, I find that photographing is a unique experience. My $35 trip to this Northeastern Cambodia last month was so great; some pictures I took was also quite fascinating.

Next, I hope to experiment with HDR (High dynamic range imaging) so Canon EOS 400D camera is something cool for me in the near future.
