I [ThaRum] live[s] in Cambodia, a country situated in Southeast Asia, or more specifically in the Mekong region.
It was not long after the Khmer New Year in 2004 that I began to have my own digital journal, and became a digital citizen (often called by media people at British Broadcasting Corporation-BBC). Just days ahead of the September 11, I received news from several online sources that my journal has been recently nominated by AsiaPundit, a meta weblog about Asia. Mine was listed in the Best of Mekong Blog, one of categories of the Asia Blog Awards. The final round will take place next year. Let’s wait and see. Will there be prize? AsiaPundit pledged to offer extra traffic to nominee’s site and the appreciation from peers.
In which a pencil meets a piece of paper:
What would happen when a grown-up gives blank papers and pencils to several little kids? One of them perhaps do not know what to do with the stuff, but at least a boy may have something in mind he wants to do with the stuff. Usually, most kids find it joyful to have paper and nice drawing tool in hands. After an hour or so, we, as adults, must be surprised to see a new drawing sketched by the kids. As everyone else on the planet, he is one of many who can put together his expression in a way that he did it in his very own world. A group of grown-ups take a look at the drawings, make judgement, and then give a few kids one candy each.
Just when I say nothing at all…
Hey ThaRum, congrats on the well-deserved nomination. Did you get notified by the Asia Blog Awards directly? My blog was nominated for Best Asia Photo Blog, but they never contacted me directly, I just happened to stumble across it on my own while surfing. Anyhow, best of luck to you! See you when I get back to Phnom Penh later this year.
