Ancient Library in Jungle Temple of Beng Mealea

A library in jungle temple of Beng Mealea
A magnificent 11th century library in jungle temple of Beng Mealea — an ancient architecture in the style of Angkor Wat.

Historically Cambodia is a nation of fascinating people of life-long learning. An evidence to prove this is that there are libraries built inside ancient temples. From Preah Khan to Preah Vihear to Beng Mealea to Angkor Wat — where there is temple, there is library. It is particularly part of architectural temples constructed by all religious Cambodian predecessors. Today most of them are lost in the jungles. Unlike the Library of Congress of the United States and the British Museum Reading Room of London, there is no single collection of multimedia other than palm leaf manuscripts.
