No SARS, Not Tsunami, but Bird Flu

Cambodia, beyond agriculture sector, also rely greatly on tourism, which is creating business opportunities and jobs to a lot of people. In recent years, the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) has reduced number of tourists to Asia. There was no single case reported in Cambodia however. And fortunately we were not victims of the Tsunami. Although the world now is talking about bird flu after some cases were reportedly to be found in Europe. Moreover, it has been lately amplified and paid more attention by the American government to carry out a global effort to prevent the pandemic.

According to Reuter, four cases were found in Cambodia as of October 20. Hopefully we will be able to deal with this, so that it will not make it harder to people to secure their jobs in tourism industry.
