Cambodia’s Ex-King Delights in Blogging
“As Royal Blogger, Cambodia’s Ex-King Offers Views on Everything From Hollywood to the Environment
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia May 28, 2005 — “I thank you for insulting me.” Thus blogged former King Norodom Sihanouk to a critic of his support of gay marriage. He didn’t share any of the insulting e-mails with his readers, but noted: “My country, Cambodia, has chosen to be a liberal democracy since 1993. Every Cambodian … including the King has the right to express freely their view.”
It was one of thousands of commentaries that fill the Web site of the world’s most colorful and pugnacious royal blogger, offering Sihanouk’s views on anything from environmental rape through Hollywood stars and killer spouses to the rough-and-tumble of Cambodian politics.”

How do Cambodians view the King’s blog?

As a Cambodian, I for one wish most of the time the ex-King should keep his royal mouth shut. I get goosebump when I read his blogs. For example when the tsunami hit Indonesia, Thailand, and others in January, the ex-King took credits that Cambodia was spared from the catastrophy because he conducted a praised ceramony to the Hindu gods. He said he knew the great impending disaster was comming. And the praised ceramony would keep Cambodia safe. I would say this is nonesense.

At some points it is good to learn from older generation.
When we look back at the history of philosophy we are astonished to realize Aristotle, a great phileasopher, views women as an incompleted men in a society. But, of course he also contributed a lot to our present society. The worse is that some philsophers did not write a piece of their thoughts.
