A Night after War
Yesterday evening, a movie theatre took place nearby Botum pagoda, where I have film scenario class, so my trainer suggests all class attendees to go out there for a movie, Un soir aprés la guerre (A Night after War, in English maybe) by Rithy Panh - 1998.
I was so amazed by the rich content of the movie, which is a property of a Cambodian professional. The story tells about a Cambodian troop who survived his after Pol Pot regime, and had to live life with only a gun in Phnom Penh city. The war was gone, but not its effect. People had to psychologically cope with loss of family relatives, friends and colleagues. Sovanna, main male actor who served an army came back to his family, but not anyone were able to support each other. He became a boxer and several works to feed his stomach and his newly found girlfriend, Sreypeuv, a night club girl (Srey Bar in Khmer).
Unfortunately he had to force himself to rob. He had no other choices than this. One, he had never want his girlfriend to work as sex worker. And last, he would soon become a father of an unborn child. I would say: an unwanted nightmare of a veteran. He was shot down at the end.

Was the movie shot in Cambodia? How good was the movie? Hmm… I meant did the actors/actress perform well?
Anyways, for various Khmer movies I’ve watched, “Neak M’day”, “Preay Krawla Phleung”,.. are the good ones - The scenario is meaningful (Preay Krawla Phleung is dynamic - Well I seemly don’t like slow movie), and the actors/actress starred well, in harmony with the scene. “Angk’reak Eh Phuthorng (Body guard Eh Phuthorng)” is one of the bads
I find some Khmer movies lack of scenario tactic. Some tells the spectators (seemly afraid that they, the spactators, can’t understand) or we can guess how would the scenario be!!!!

It took place in Cambodia. It began at the time that Cambodian troops backed to their home on a train, probably from Battambang to Phnom Penh. I think most of them perform very well. One thing is they are not the most popular actors/actresses, but professionals. This is unique.
You are right. Most latest movies are probably not invented.
